Great fried pickles. Same since they opened. Reliable and delicious. Not sure why I need 85 characters to get the point across that their fried pickles are tasty.

Located in a historic railroad depot the New Windsor Depot is definitely worth the ride to get there. Great service, reasonably priced and super food. The regular specials are great!! The staff is attentive and fast. It's definitely one of my favorite places to lunch... I've not had the dinners, but I'm betting they're good too. Highly recommended!!
I ordered the pork tenderloin and potato salad and can say without exception it was one of the best lunches that I have had in a very long time. The tenderloin was by far the best that I have ever had and was large enough that I took half of it home. My only negative is from a previous visit where I ordered french fries as a side only to receive seasoned fries of which I am not a fan. I far prefer regular fries but to each his own.

A true local spot that I came across while on the quest to learn more about my family on my mothers side of that family. Thus I needed to eat local and came across this train depot now a restaurant. Took them up on the special half roast beef sandwich . Yes the picture is only a half portion. Roast beef succulent and tender and bursting full of flavor. Lathered in a rich beef gravy which is layered over the sandwhich and the mashed potatoes giving the plate a full brown finish. With a few drops of Tabasco. Oh alright with a lot of Tabasco to enhance the flavors of and bring out all the textures and tastes of this delicious meal. If you ever get to New Windsor, Illinois in mercer county. You've got to stop here and try anything they have on the menu. epic yummy.
The Depot hand-breads their fried foods, so though I usually avoid this kind of cooking--here I enjoy the chicken strips, green beans, and fresh tenderloins. Yummy!
